While probably not a first pick for many, Rufus would be an interesting endeavor at the very least. Capcom would have some work cut out for them in trying to keep this fighters' spirit intact without making him overpowered in flustering ways. The rotund character had a pretty polarizing air about him as he was plenty fun to watch as pros like CP|Justin Wong and EG|Ricki Ortiz wowed audiences with him, but he was also a fairly frustrating fighter to face. Rufus' rush down allowed him to eat foes up as they were forced to bite the bullet and essentially guess whether or not to try to defend against an instant dive kick, be wary of a cross up attempt, or guard for a throw or frame trap. Though you wouldn't imagine it by just looking at him, the American fighter was incredibly formidable with his dive kick pressure, insanely versatile Space Opera Symphony Ultra, and his seemingly unbeatable EX Messiah Kick. He's proud, he's dumb, he's tubby, and he's got some of the best attacks ever to have graced the franchise. Rufus was the first Street Fighter character to actually have a fat belly devoid of any ab muscle definition. When it comes to releasing a DLC figure, you want to be sure to consider how much hype would naturally be driven by the character's relationship with fans as well as how their essential moveset would translate into Street Fighter 5's specific structure. There's nothing written in any rule book that states developers need to fairly sample from each roster, but perhaps a little extra SF4 love is in the cards if we can find a character people would be happy with.
